40:20 carbon emissions target – summary
The 40:20 carbon emissions target was set to cut Haringey carbon emissions by 40% by 2020.
We are on track to hit this target. We will confirm this in the 2022 Annual Carbon Report.
The data shows a:
- 3.2% reduction in carbon emissions between 2018 and 2019 (the latest year that data is available for)
- a total reduction of 36.8% since 2005
Haringey’s 2041 net zero carbon target – summary
As set out in our Climate Change Action Plan, we have a target for Haringey to be net-zero carbon by 2041.
Haringey’s emissions went down by 12% between 2015 and 2018.
In the latest year measured, emissions went down by 2.4% between 2017 and 2018.
Haringey's emissions for each person remain well below the London average and the average of our neighbouring boroughs.
Haringey Council’s net zero carbon 2027 target – summary
We’re committed to being a net zero carbon council by 2027. Our corporate carbon footprint continues to reduce.
Our emissions went down by 16% between 2019/20 and 2020/21. This means the total reduction since 2014/15 is 62%.
