Search your family history

Part of: Registration certificates

If you want to know more about your family history, a good starting point is to search the FreeBMD website.

The site was set up by the General Register Office (GRO) and is a public database of births, deaths and marriages. It is updated by volunteers but is not a complete record of all registrations.

Once you have details of a particular event, contact the relevant register office, or the GRO directly, to request a copy of the certificate.

Find a register office on GOV.UK.

Search the Haringey records

You can also search the records for Haringey, from 1837 to the present day. The fee for a general search is £18. All searches can be done in-person at Haringey Register Office.

To request to search our records, please contact us.
