Data from a Central London Forward (CLF) report showed that Haringey employees are being paid the lowest average weekly wage of all London boroughs.

As a small local employer with most of our team recruited from Haringey and the surrounding area it is important for us to be seen to pay fairly. By paying at least London Living Wage we are able to recruit skilled and experienced people to join our team which in turn means our organisation runs efficiently.

We have been a Living Wage accredited employer since 2020 and we found the process of accreditation to be straightforward and a useful way to reflect on our business model and attitude to recruitment. I would encourage employers to become accredited. As the cost of living crisis shows no signs of easing this is one way to help individuals and families to meet their growing costs.

Pressure Drop Brewing

Pressure Drop Brewing logo

Pressure Drop Brewing are a small, independent, quality-focused craft brewery founded in 2012 and based in Tottenham Hale since 2017. They have 10 full-time employees plus part time staff who work at their weekend taproom serving beers directly to local customers.

The most obvious benefit is our ability to recruit good staff. We have seen lots of hospitality companies complaining that they can’t get staff post-COVID and post-Brexit. As a Living Wage employer, we have not had that problem.

We have received promotional materials from the organisation and receive a lot of information from them. We have also participated in meetings discussing benefits and approaches for companies.
