Your mental health and wellbeing

There’s support available if you:

  • are struggling with your mental health
  • need advice about building a positive relationship with your baby
  • want tips to take care of your mental and emotional wellbeing

This includes special services for problems that happen during your pregnancy and the first 2 years of your child’s life – known as the ‘perinatal’ period.

Children’s wellbeing is closely linked with their parent’s wellbeing. Some parents feel overwhelmed after the birth of a baby, so it's important to talk to your health visitor, midwife or GP if you and/or your partner feel under pressure.
