It’s important to gather evidence if you’re experiencing antisocial behaviour.
We'll ask you to upload your evidence when you make an antisocial behaviour report.
Evidence helps us understand:
- what the problem is
- when it’s happening
- who’s involved
- how it’s affecting you
Your evidence can also be used, with your permission, if your case goes to court.
Keep an incident diary
Keep a note of all incidents in an incident diary.
For each incident, record:
- the date it happened
- the time it started and ended
- what happened – for example, what people did and said
- where the incident happened
- who you think is responsible – give details of everyone involved, including any names and addresses you know
- where you were when the incident happened
- how the incident made you feel
- who else was affected – for example, your family or friends
Other evidence you can gather
Do not put yourself at risk when gathering evidence.
There are other types of evidence that might help support your case.
If it’s safe to do so, you can also gather things like:
- photos
- videos
- letters
- emails
- text messages
- social media posts
