The Deputy Lieutenant of Haringey
The Deputy Lieutenant for Haringey is Captain Peter Baker RNR, RD.

Lord Lieutenants are appointed by The King, on the advice of the Prime Minister, for each county of England and Wales and each area of Scotland.
Role of the Deputy Lieutenant
Deputy Lieutenants are commissioned by the Lord Lieutenant. The role of the Deputy Lieutenant is to assist in performing any public duty performed by the Lord Lieutenant.
Duties of the Deputy Lieutenant
Lord Lieutenants are His Majesty's personal representatives in a county or area. Their main duty is to uphold the dignity of the Crown.
Within that remit, the Lord Lieutenant will exercise the following functions:
- arranging visits by members of the Royal Family and escorting Royal visitors
- presentation of medals and awards on behalf of His Majesty
- participation in civic, voluntary and social activities with the Lieutenancy
- liaison with local units of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, Royal Air Force and their associated cadet forces
- leading the local magistracy by chairing the Advisory Committee on Justices of the Peace
