Afrobeat Open Deck Day

Are you ready to dive into the vibrant world of Afrobeat and unleash your inner DJ?

Join us at Wood Green library for an electrifying DJ mixing experience designed for young adults!

For 2 and a half hours, you’ll have the chance to explore and mix different Afrobeat songs, all under the guidance of an experienced DJ.

Event highlights:

• introduction to Afrobeat:
  • begin your journey with an introduction to the rich and rhythmic world of Afrobeat
  • learn about the genre's history, its cultural significance, and its impact on global music
• hands-on mixing:
  • step into the DJ booth and get hands-on experience with professional DJ equipment
  • our expert DJ will guide you through the basics of beatmatching, blending, and creating seamless transitions between tracks
• live demonstrations:
  • watch live demonstrations from our experienced DJ, showcasing advanced techniques and creative mixing styles
  • gain insights into the art of reading the crowd and creating an unforgettable musical experience
• interactive practice:
  • put your skills to the test with interactive practice sessions
  • experiment with different tracks, explore your creativity, and receive personalized feedback to help you refine your technique
• Q&A and networking:
  • engage in a Q&A session with the DJ, where you can ask questions, share your experiences, and connect with fellow aspiring DJs
