Are there any entry requirements?
You must be aged 19 and over by the 31st of August 2024 and be eligible for publicly funded courses. There are no formal entry requirements, but you would have to be able to independently take part in learning activities in English and this would be assessed in a pre-course discussion.
Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?
You would be invited to an informal face to face or telephone discussion with a tutor to ensure that the course is suitable for you and will meet your needs.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught through interactive classroom sessions on site at Wood Green Library. The session runs from 9:30 to 12.00pm.
What feedback will I get?
You will get feedback from the tutor in class and on any assignments that you complete. You will also complete an Individual learning plan where you will record and discuss your progress with the tutor.
How will I be able to give my views on the course?
You will be able to give your views to your Class Rep, in a feedback form at the end of the course or directly to your tutor or a manager during the course. You may also be asked to participate in surveys for funders or Ofsted.
What course can I do next?
There are a variety of employability workshops at Haringey Learns that you may progress on to or you may discuss with your tutor developing further your skills in English, maths, IT or a specific career strand.
Additional information
You will also be offered a wide range of different wellbeing or engagement activities within the service.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for adults who have little or no digital skills and have low literacy skills, which is further impeding their gaining ICT skills.
