How to juggle life and stay balanced

Course Details

What is this course about?

This course will help with your health and wellbeing, identifying strategies in juggling life and how to stay mentally and physically balanced. 

The following points will be covered during the session: 

 

  • What is stress? 
  • What symptoms are related to stress (thoughts, feelings and behaviours) 
  • How stress works (fight or flight) response
  • What causes us to feel stressed (stressors) and the impact it has on us.

You will learn strategies and techniques to manage stress differently/better including: 

  • Stress relief discussion: what works for you? what doesn’t work?

You will also learn about some evidence based advice and tips including:

 

• Mindfulness exercise - 5,4,3,2,1 grounding

• Relaxation/breathing exercise – box breathing, belly breathing.

Are there any entry requirements?

You must be aged 19 and over by the 31st of August 2023 and be eligible for publicly funded.

Knowledge of English language.

Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

No

How will I be taught?

Workshop will be delivered by qualified IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) practitioners using MS Teams platform. 

You will need to have access to the internet on your laptop, desktop computer or SMART phone.

You will need to download MS Teams on your device prior to the workshop. We will provide details on how you can do this when you enrol.

What feedback will I get?

You will receive feedback from your tutor throughout the workshop, as and when appropriate.
