A well established park with tennis courts and a pavilion.
Chapmans Green has tennis courts. Book a court on the Chapmans Green tennis website.
Local people formed the Friends of Chapmans Green group in 2016. The aim was to give the under-used and overlooked green space some love and affection.
They organise community events throughout the year and have regular clean-up days.
To find out more about the group and get involved, see our list of Friends of Parks groups.
To find out how the park is managed see our park management reports page.
Green Flag Award
First awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award in 2006, Chapmans Green has kept it ever since.
To ask for a copy of the Green Flag report see our parks report page.
References to Chapmans Green date back as far as 1619 when it was originally a common. Little has changed since it received park status in the early 1900s.
The formal gardens keep their shape, but are now more sustainably planted.
The Green houses a mock-Tudor pavilion. It was repainted in 2019, using originals colours to celebrate the 400-year history of the park.
