Chestnuts park has:
The park has a community willow garden and fruit tree orchard.
The Friends of Chestnuts Park volunteer group was formed in 2000.
They’ve successfully campaigned for improvements to the park and organise events.

Chestnuts Park used to be a watercress farm. The stream running through the land is contained in an underground tunnel.
Where the community centre is, there used to be a large house called Chestnuts House, built around 1850. The house was demolished in the 1980s but some of the brick entrance columns remain.
