Chess is a wonderful sport, suitable for all ages and abilities. It is recognised for its ability to reduce stress and bring together people from all types of backgrounds. It is estimated that 605 million adults worldwide can play chess and we are excited to be able to bring so many opportunities to harness that love for chess in the Borough!
There are now 3 more outdoor chess tables within our parks, including Finsbury Park, Ducketts Common and Lordship Recreation Ground.
You can also find Haringey Chess Club at Wood Green Library every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month from 1 - 3pm. This is free to join for all ages and abilities.
Would your child like to learn to play chess? Find out more about our Checkmates Chess Club for children held at St Ann's Library.
