During their visit, they attended a stay-and-play session as well as a yoga class, where several individuals shared how the hub has positively impacted their daily lives.
Ann Graham, Director for Children Services, provided detailed insights into the background of Family Hubs, their successes, and future plans.
Each hub focuses on supporting children and young people aged 5-19, as well as assisting parents and carers with various challenges.
Services include mental health support for young people, bespoke services for fathers, as well as wider parenting support.
Beyond the services offered, the Family Hubs also fosters a sense of community.
Individuals are given the opportunity to build parent networks and engage in peer services, creating an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.
To date, the council has opened two Family Hubs: The Triangle Family Hub in Tottenham, which offers services for children up to 19 years of age, and the newest hub at the Muswell Hill Centre, located in the west of the borough.
Plans for the remaining two Family Hubs are well underway and expected to be in place by March 2025.
