On the day
Make sure items are:
- ready for collection by 6.30am
- easy to access on your property boundary
- not placed up or down stairs
- covered, if they are fabric items (for example sofas or mattresses)
- placed by your bin area if you live in a block of flats
- at a nearby collection point (housing estate collections)
Items that can be collected
We can collect:
- beds and bed frames
- bedside cabinets
- bookcases
- carpets and rugs inside a tied bag (must be less than 80 litres)
- chairs
- computers and monitors
- cookers
- dishwashers
- doors (no fire doors or metal doors)
- freezers
- fridges
- garden waste (one-off collections)
- mattresses
- ovens
- printers
- sofas and sofa beds
- tables
- tumble driers
- TVs
- wardrobes
- washing machines
Items that cannot be collected
We cannot collect:
- asbestos
- carpets and rugs (not inside a tied bag)
- car batteries
- construction waste (bricks, stonework, cement, paint, plasterboard)
- gas bottles and cylinders
- hazardous waste or chemicals
- house renovation waste
- masonry and tiles
- pianos
- rubble and soil
- tree trunks and thick branches
- tyres
