Japanese Knotweed can push it's way through concrete, paving slabs, bricks and damage drains and sewers. It must not be left to spread.
Japanese Knotweed collection service
We provide a free service for residents of Haringey to get rid of Japanese Knotweed.
Email the Japanese Knotweed collection service.
When you book a collection you must:
- put the knotweed in garden sacks in the place you cut it down
- not put it in any bin or move it across the garden
- make sure the bag does not have soil in it
- use 2 bags to completely seal it
You do not legally have to destroy it, but if it spreads to other gardens you could face prosecution.
