Hazardous waste

Hazardous and clinical waste can harm people and the environment. It cannot go into your bins or recycling. A special collection must be booked.

The City of London deal with hazardous waste collections for businesses and residents.

Book a hazardous waste collection on the City of London Corporation website.

Some examples of hazardous waste are:

  • asbestos
  • batteries
  • clinical waste 
  • chemicals, such as brake fluid or print toner
  • computer monitors
  • equipment containing ozone-depleting substances, like fridges
  • fluorescent tubes
  • industrial chemicals
  • oils (except edible ones), such as car oil
  • pesticides
  • solvents
  • paint (see information below on how to dispose of paint)
