University technical colleges (UTCs) and studio schools are government-funded secondary schools. They are for children aged 14 to 19 and children can join from year 10.
University technical colleges specialise in subjects like engineering and construction.
Studio schools are small schools (usually around 300 pupils). They teach mainstream qualifications through project-based learning.
See GOV.UK for more information about UTCs and studio schools.
Find more information on UTCs on the UTC Colleges website.
How to apply
You need to apply while your child is in year 9.
