Walk Zones

Part of: School journeys

Actively travelling to school is proven to help improve the health and wellbeing of children and their families. We have created a Walk Zone map for every school in Haringey.

Our maps show walk zones of 5, 10 and 20 minutes around your child's school.

The maps can help your family by increasing active travel, which improves fitness. Walking to school also helps your child practice their road safety skills – stop, look, listen and think.

Walking to school is often quicker than driving, which in turn reduces congestion, pollution and improves road safety as there are fewer vehicles on the road.

See the Living Streets report for more information (PDF, 48 pages, 1.5MB).
