On the night expect:

• music from DJABLES & Ajiboy, young DJ’s from Mission London’s Discovery Programme
• a panel discussion around Reclaiming Narratives (the National Black History Month theme for 2024), chaired by Kenneth Tharp, Joint-Assistant Director for Culture and Creativity at Haringey Council. The panel will feature speakers from a diverse mix of backgrounds and disciplines, they will be sharing their experiences and insights into the power of stories as a tool for change.

A Taste Of Afrika PopUp Market is a vibrant cultural event celebrating African Heritage through food, art, music and fashion.

Attendees can expect an immersive experience with diverse vendors offering:

• authentic Afrikan cuisine
• handmade crafts
• unique fashion pieces
• art reflecting the continent's rich traditions

The market also features live performances, workshops, and storytelling, creating a lively atmosphere that showcases the creativity and diversity of Afrika.

This creative writing workshop, led by local Performance Poet Kieron Rennie, will explore what it means to reclaim the narrative, looking at positive community movements, black businesses, and creative pioneers that have shaped the borough. This event is 18+

Document five Black-owned businesses, capturing their essence, history, and everyday moments with Photographer Lostintottenham.

All participants will be provided with a disposable camera, so there’s no need to bring any photography equipment. Just bring comfortable walking shoes, as we will be moving between different businesses.

A group exhibition curated by multidisciplinary artist Ronan Mckenzie. BGAC is proud to announce the second upcoming exhibition curated by multidisciplinary artist Ronan Mckenzie, opening in the Centre’s newly refurbished mezzanine gallery on Friday 20 September 2024.

Throughout October, come see the exhibition from local artist Syreeta King at Marcus Garvey Library. Syreeta's work draws inspiration from her family and her ancestry.
