Businesses who need sector-specific advice on complying with Trading Standards law should visit the Business Companion website.

The website gives free legal advice to businesses that sell goods or supply services to consumers.

How we deliver Trading Standards services

If you are a business trading in Haringey, we also offer free advice on Trading Standards legislation.

We are responsible for protecting consumers and businesses by ensuring a safe and fair trading environment.

Our areas of work include:

• product safety
• age-restricted sales
• weights and measures
• illicit tobacco and alcohol
• investigating unfair trading practices

We also run a Responsible Retailer scheme to help businesses become more responsible in their selling practices.
