Curriculum and learning at Woodside Nursery

At Woodside Nursery, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

We are a setting that is inspired by Reggio Emilia as well as the forest schools of Denmark, Finland and Sweden. We believe that all children are capable, and a child’s interest should be placed at the centre of the Early Years Curriculum.

Children learn best when they have opportunities which allow for movement and action, creativity and imagination, independence and collaboration.

The children have access to a Forest Garden with campfire and kitchen garden which has recently won a bronze Haringey in Bloom award as well as a trio of chickens.

We believe that

The outdoors offers limitless potential to young children. It becomes a place where they can go to relax their mind, to be inspired and to deep dive into the world of imagination. It's a place where they can design, create and explore. The possibilities are endless.
