Net zero carbon by 2041
We want the whole of Haringey to be net zero carbon by 2041.
We can only achieve this target if residents and businesses reduce their carbon emissions. See information on how you can reduce your carbon emissions on the BBC website.
To support the borough target, we aim to decarbonise our existing council homes, deliver sustainable new council homes, and reduce emissions in the council's commercial portfolio as part of the borough's 2041 target.
As a council, we want to be net zero carbon by 2027.
We aim to do this by:
- removing carbon from council vehicles
- making energy efficiency changes to core council operational buildings
- buying additional green energy for buildings and vehicles
Climate Change Action Plan
