Haringey has been shortlisted in the Local Authority Planning Team of the Year category, which is a fantastic achievement from the service which works to ensure building design and placemaking in the borough meet the very highest standards.
The council is also nominated twice for the Planning to Address Climate Change gong, having led on the Delivering Net Zero collaboration involving 18 London boroughs and five sustainability-focused consultancies.
The project aims to deliver ambitious planning policies that minimise carbon emissions generated by new buildings when they are in use.
Haringey were part of London Councils’ Low Carbon Development Toolkit collaboration too jointly with neighbouring borough Hackney Council.
This toolkit aims to aid planning teams in achieving better outcomes, and fostering greater consistency, when it comes to positive low-carbon results across the built environment in London.
