The council’s capacity-building partners, Haringey Community Collaborative (HCC), has launched the first of their Challenge Funds.

It will see grants of around £2,000 to £3,000 being awarded to Haringey-based VCS organisations with an annual turnover of less than £100k.

Before applying, applicants are requested to download and read the HCC’s guidance document.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 15 November 2024.

Successful grant awardees will be selected by a community panel of local residents, experts and stakeholders.

They will have six months to deliver their projects, ending with a showcase event to publicise the impact of their projects to local stakeholders and funders. Alongside project delivery, grant awardees will receive tailored, capacity-building support from the HCC.

Haringey VCS Challenge Funds provide grant funding that Haringey groups and organisations can apply for.

Each Challenge Fund round will focus on a particular theme or issue identified in the VCS Priorities Report.

Guidance is provided for each Challenge Fund to ensure that applicants are able address the kinds of interventions and/or outcomes the community hopes to see.

The initial phase of the HCC Challenge Fund involved a co-design process in Summer 2024, when more than 70 VCS organisations were engaged to identify the main priorities of need in the borough.

Haringey’s VCS have strengths and opportunities to:

  • help residents meet their basic needs
  • improve access to community support services
  • help residents improve their financial stability through opportunities for learning and working
