Theory club 

Theory club helps young musicians gain confidence with music theory. This happens through: 

  • individual exercises and worksheets 
  • group exercises 
  • traditional teaching 
  • playing instruments 

We look at key parts of music theory leading to a well-rounded understanding of: 

  • notation 
  • rhythm 
  • transposition 
  • intervals 
  • keys 

The Club is suitable for anyone from Grades 2 to 4. The tutor changes the lessons to meet the needs of everyone in the group. 

Club details are:

  • 10 weeks a term
  • Thursdays, 4pm to 4.40pm 
  • Rokesly Junior School, Rokesly Avenue, London N8 8NH 
  • £54.50 per term (no charge for pupils receiving free school meals) 

Grade 5 theory clinic 

The theory clinic is a chance for students to prepare for an upcoming Grade 5 theory exam. 

It gives students the chance to: 

  • ask questions about music theory 
  • develop their understanding 
  • work on areas that need improvement 
  • work on problems both alone and as a group 
  • put topics into a meaningful music context 

The clinic offers a kind and supportive environment in which to learn.

Clinic details are:

  • 10 weeks a term
  • Thursdays, 4.40pm to 5.20pm 
  • Rokesly Junior School, Rokesly Avenue, London N8 8NH
  • £54.50 per term (no charge for pupils who get free school meals)
