Buy an instrument – the Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme

The Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme lets you buy an instrument for your child through us without paying VAT. We charge an administration fee for this service – the amount depends on the cost of the instrument.

The instrument:

  • must be portable
  • can be new or second-hand
  • should be right for the child’s ability
  • must be collected from Haringey Music Service by the person who bought it

You can buy more than 1 instrument and there is no limit on how much you can spend.

Pianos

You cannot buy a piano through this scheme as they are not portable. However, you can buy an electronic keyboard.
