After you make a referral about someone, the case will be assessed. If there are enough concerns, the person will be referred to a panel of different organisations called Channel – find out more about Channel.
Channel is a national programme led by local authorities that offers help and guidance to people who may be at risk of being radicalised. It gives support through things like mentoring, counselling and help with employment.
Haringey’s Channel panel meets once a month.
Accepting help from Channel is voluntary – it’s up to a person to decide if they want support. If the person is under 18, their parents will decide.
Getting support from Channel does not result in a criminal record.
