These terms and conditions are for all users of Tottenham Green, Park Road and Broadwater Farm leisure centres. See also:
Annual and monthly memberships
- These T&C's refer to an annual paid up front or direct debit member as "members" and pay and play non-members as "non-members" when it relates to both the term used is "Customers" or "Users".
- Haringey Council reserves the right to change the price of monthly direct debits annually. Increases will be at a minimum in line with the current rate of inflation. Direct Debit customers will be notified in writing with at least 10 working days' notice of any change.
- For any failed Direct Debits, Haringey Council reserves the right to restrict access to the lessons until a suitable payment has been made for the missed Direct Debit Payment.
Booking and access
- The following terms and conditions apply to all users of the centre.
- Use of the centre and facilities managed by the centre
- To use the gym, group exercise class, swimming pool, courts, rooms, soft play users or any other facility or service must have pre-booked and paid online in advance.
- All users of the centre must have their photograph taken to access the centre. Or provide photographic ID such as a driver's licence or passport on every visit to the centre
- Turnstiles must be used for every visit using your membership or rewards card. The gate on the turnstiles is only to be used for wheelchair, push chair or limited mobility access. In centres where there are not turnstiles users must approach reception to have their card swiped
- Haringey Council operate outside pitches and areas; a member of staff will check payment has been made before entry is permitted.
- An adult is someone deemed 16 years and above.
- In the event of a local or national emergency Haringey Council reserves the right to close one or more centres in response to that emergency. This may be with or without notice.
- Haringey Council reserves the right to close the whole centre or part of the centre to undertake planned or reactive maintenance. Wherever possible a minimum of seven days’ notice of any closure will be provided.
- If a member is more than 5 minutes late for their pre-booked activity, they may be refused entry to avoid disturbance to other users.
People unable to book online
- We appreciate that some of our members may not be able to book digitally or online. In such cases these members can call the centre on the centres telephone number, and we will take bookings and over the phone. Payment will need to be made in centre prior to taking part in the activity.
Personal details
- Customers must supply their email address, mobile phone number and address before they join or use the centre.
- Haringey Council will not pass details onto third parties.
- Any monthly direct debit membership must be cancelled via the website as per the terms and conditions of cancelling. To do this member must have an online account.
- It is a customer's responsibility to update their personal details with Haringey Council should they change. Haringey Council will update customers by email, social media and the website.
Age restrictions
- Haringey Council offer products and services that are subject to age restrictions, to ensure the best experience when using the facilities customer may be asked to provide proof of age.
- The following are examples of accepted proof of age documents, passport, photo student ID, Proof of age card, driving licence, oyster card.
Bookings and court hire
- All visits/sessions must be pre-booked and paid for online or via the Haringey Council Active Wellbeing app or website. This can be done up to 7 days before for members and 6 days before for non-members. You'll just need to bring your membership or rewards card and can then go straight to your session. If you are a first-time booker, you can pick your card up on your first visit.
Paying for bookings
- Non-members must pay for their chosen activity at the time of booking, or the booking will automatically be cancelled. Not all memberships include unlimited use of classes or courts. Please contact your centre for confirmation of membership entitlement or see the memberships section below.
- All non-member booked sessions and additional paid sessions by members including family swims are non-refundable or transferable so please ensure you can make the time slot you have booked before confirming your booking.
Booking times
- The booking time covers the period of use including up to 5 minutes setting up and up to 5 minutes clearing away of facilities relating to any booking to ensure that everyone has a chance to use the facilities there may be restrictions on the number of bookings each person is permitted to make for each day. Please see the relevant centre home site for any restrictions that may apply.
Conditions of use
- All hires and bookings are made subject to the Terms and Conditions of Use that may apply from time to time. These are available from reception and displayed at the Leisure Centres and are issued with any membership.
- If membership rights are abused the membership may be terminated without notice. Membership is non-refundable
- Choice membership includes 2 hours in a week court hire per adult at no additional cost
- Non-members pay the guest fee.
- Members cannot bring in non-members.
Cancellation fees and non-attendance of bookings by Members
- A 'no show' fee of the full pay as you go price of that activity will be applied to the members' account if they fail to attend a confirmed booking for gym, swim or group exercise.
- A cancellation fee of the full pay as you go price of that activity will be applied to the members' account if a class booking is cancelled within 4 hours of the class starting.
- A cancellation fee of the full pay as you go price of that activity will be applied to the members' account if a gym or swim booking is cancelled within 1 hour of the activity starting.
- No show fees must be paid before booking further activities.
- The Centre Manager may choose not to apply ‘no show’ fees in certain circumstances.
Outdoor pools
- In the event of adverse weather conditions, customers will be evacuated from the water and asked to leave and in the case of thunder / lighting, until 30 minutes after the last strike. No refunds will be issued as this out of the control of Haringey Council, but an alternative session can be booked. we would suggest members check the weather forecast before swimming.
Swimming
- Please adhere to the poolside rules and listen to our qualified lifeguards otherwise you may be asked to leave.
- Respect lane discipline and other swimmers, there may be mixed abilities.
- Please do not swim if you have had an upset stomach within the last two weeks.
- Avoid swimming within two hours of eating or if you are under the influence of alcohol, medication or anything else.
- For your safety, running, bombing, back-diving, petting, fighting or using face masks and snorkels are not permitted.
- All swimmers must wear clean appropriate swimwear. Haringey Council would prefer you to wear a swim hat, but this is not compulsory.
- Physical activity or exercise is undertaken at your own risk. If you have any concerns about your health or suitability for your chosen activity you should seek guidance from a doctor or relevant health professional before participating.
- Bookings are valid for the named person only, non-transferable and non-refundable once the purchasing process is complete.
- You must always register your attendance with your membership card at the centre reception or entrance gates.
- You can access the venue 10 minutes before and up to 10 minutes after the designated start time of your booking. Failure to register your attendance within this 20-minute period will result in non-admittance to the venue and a no-show charge being added to Your membership account.
- Swimming bookings must comply with our swim safely rules for admission to the pool.
- Children under 8 years old are not allowed to be left unaccompanied and always remain the responsibility of the guardian whilst using the centre.
- Always listen to our staff and follow their instructions.
- No private coaching allowed.
- There may be additional rules which apply to a particular facility displayed in the Centre or Venue which you will also be required to follow.
- Parents must stay in the water within arm’s length of non-swimmers who should be wearing appropriate buoyancy aids.
- Please remember to shower before and after you swim.
- Swim testing by lifeguards may be implemented to check the ability of swimmers before they are allowed into the deep end of the main pool. This will be at the discretion of the lifeguard on position.
Swim safely rules
- Under 8's and non-swimmers under 16 must be accompanied in the water by a competent adult swimmer.
- No more than two under 8's or non-swimmers under 16 to each competent adult swimmer.
- The competent adult swimmer must actively supervise under 8's and non-swimmers under 16.
- Under 8's and all non-swimmers must remain in shallow water.
- We strongly recommend under 8's and non-swimmers use armbands and/or an appropriate buoyancy aid.
- Swimming pools are dangerous environments. You are responsible for your own safety and that of your children. You must actively supervise your children whilst they are in the pool.
- It is recommended that non-swimmers over the age of 16 are accompanied in the water by a competent adult swimmer.
- All customers should ensure they are fit enough to undertake physical activity. If in doubt, check with your doctor.
Health suite
- It may not be advisable to use thermal experience facilities for some medical conditions or during pregnancy. If in doubt, please seek medical advice
- Keep hydrated, water can be brought into the spa or purchased at spa reception before entering
- No shaving or exfoliating
- No hair dyes or oils permitted
- No food or glass bottles
- Over 16 years only are permitted
- Loungers may not be reserved; no items are to be left on loungers that are not in use
- Bathing suits must always be worn.
Gym usage
- Clean down your kit before and after use
- Place any blue roll/tissue straight in the bin after use
- Use the hand sanitiser provided before entry to the gym
- The water fountains will be out of use so please bring your own bottle of water to stay hydrated during your class workout
- Bring your own sweat towel (please do not use this to wipe down kit, use the tissue and sanitiser provided)
- Please ensure you arrive on time for your gym session to avoid congestion at reception. If your gym session starts at 10am please arrive at 10am
- Please arrive changed and ready to workout.
Studio
- Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before the start of your class
- Use hand sanitiser before you enter the studio
- Ensure you wipe your kit down before and after use using the sanitiser spray provided
- Maintain social distancing throughout the class
- Please don't congregate outside of the studio before or after the class
- Arrive changed and ready to workout out
- Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated throughout the class
- Where come classes maybe in our sports halls it maybe cooler than some studios so please bring a jumper to stay warm before and after the class
- Bring your own sweat towel (please do not use this to wipe any equipment use the tissue and sanitizer provided)
- If a member is more than 5 minutes late, they will be refused entry.
Memberships
Haringey Council sells the following memberships only as of October 2024:
- Anytime/Essential
- Daytime/Foundation
- Gym and Swim/Core
- Family
NB: Concessionary versions of these memberships are available subject to meeting the eligibility criteria set out on our website.
Anytime/Essential fixed term
- The Anytime or Essential 12-month fixed term membership allows access to the gym, swimming pool, 3 group exercise classes per week, & health suite where applicable. Extra bolt on classes can be purchased. This membership does not allow court bookings which would be chargeable
- For new direct debit paying members only on the anytime/essential membership and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
- This is a 12-month fixed term contract, payments will be made via direct debit each month. New members will receive a contract end date.
- Members will automatically be enrolled onto a rolling contract after their 12-month fixed term membership ceases.
- If the new member defaults or cancels their membership before the end of their fix term contract, they may be liable to pay for any outstanding payments due.
- Haringey Council reserves the right to restrict access to certain areas at any time during the promotion. All classes and sessions are subject to availability. Some activities may incur an additional charge. Please call in advance to find out more.
- Haringey Council reserves the right to extend or amend the offer at any time without notice.
- Centre rules must be adhered to at all times.
- Centre management reserves the right to refuse entry.
- This membership allows 7 day advanced booking rights and online booking.
- A membership card will be issued which must be used to enter the centre on every visit.
- Members must have their photo taken for their membership file or provide photographic ID on every visit.
- The customer must be over the age of 16 years of age to hold a Direct Debit or annual membership.
- Guests must pay a guest fee. Guests cannot enter the centre without the member.
Anytime/Essential
- The Anytime or Essential membership allows access to the gym, swimming pool, 3 group exercise classes per week, & health suite where applicable. Extra bolt on classes can be purchased. This membership does not allow court bookings which would be chargeable at an extra cost.
- Guests must pay a guest fee. Guests cannot enter the centre without the member
- This membership allows 7-day advanced booking rights and online booking.
- A membership card will be issued which must be used to enter the centre on every visit.
- Members must have their photo taken for their membership file or provide photographic ID on every visit.
- The Anytime or Essential membership offers cross usage to other centres in the same borough operated by Haringey Council.
- The customer must be over the age of 16 years of age to hold a Direct Debit or annual membership.
- A joint membership may be added to this membership which would allow two adults the same privileges as above.
Daytime/Foundation
- The Daytime or Foundation membership allows access to the gym, swimming pool, 2 group exercise classes per week, & health suite where applicable from Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm. Extra bolt on classes can be purchased. This membership does not allow court bookings which would be chargeable at an extra cost.
- Guests must pay a guest fee. Guests cannot enter the centre without the member.
- This membership allows 7 day advanced booking rights and online booking.
- A membership card will be issued which must be used to enter the centre on every visit.
- Members must have their photo taken for their membership file or provide photographic ID on every visit.
- The Daytime or Foundation membership can only be used in the centre it was purchased in.
- The customer must be over the age of 16 years of age to hold a Direct Debit or annual membership.
- A joint membership may be added to this membership which would allow two adults the same privileges as above.
Gym and swim / Core
- The Gym & Swim or Core membership allows access to the gym, swimming pool only. Extra bolt on classes can be purchased. This membership does not allow court bookings which would be chargeable at an extra cost.
- Guests must pay a guest fee. Guests cannot enter the centre without the member.
- This membership allows 7 day advanced booking rights and online booking.
- A membership card will be issued which must be used to enter the centre on every visit.
- Members must have their photo taken for their membership file or provide photographic ID on every visit.
- The Gym and Swim or Core membership can only be used in the centre it was purchased in.
- The customer must be over the age of 16 years of age to hold a Direct Debit or annual membership.
- A joint membership may be added to this membership which would allow two adults the same privileges as above.
Family (family 2+2 and family flex 1+3)
- The Family membership allows unlimited access for 2 adults to the gym, swimming pool, group exercise classes, health suite.
- Courts can be hired for two hours per week, per adult (table tennis, badminton, tennis, squash)
- Guests must pay a guest fee. Guests cannot enter the centre without the member.
- This membership allows 7 day advanced booking rights and online booking.
- A membership card will be issued which must be used to enter the centre on every visit.
- Members must have their photo taken for their membership file or provide photographic ID on every visit.
- The Daytime membership can only be used in the centre it was purchased in.
- The Family membership includes one free swim school place or skate school place, per child.
- Unlimited casual swimming for the children.
- Unlimited access to all kids' classes on our group exercise programme.
- The birthday child gets a free place with a birthday party booking. Food not included.
- Children on the membership must be 14 and under.
- Family memberships cannot be frozen, unless children are willing to be removed from swim school during that period. By doing this, we cannot guarantee the place will be there upon return.
Junior membership
- Members MUST be between the ages of 8 years and 15 years of age to join. Proof of eligibility may be required
- Members who wish to use the gym facilities MUST be between the ages of 10 years and 15 years ONLY
- Under NO circumstances will children 8 years to 9 years of age be allowed access to the gym facilities
- Members between the ages of 10 years and 15 years using the gym facilities MUST complete a pre-booked gym induction prior to their first visit to the gym. Consent from a legal guardian is required and the joining process must be completed by a legal guardian
- If children under the age of 10 years are using any of the facilities within the membership a parent MUST remain on site
- Proof of the child´s date of birth will be required upon joining
- Some activities and facilities may be age restricted. Age restrictions and activities vary from centre to centre. Normal centre, pool rules, membership and all other general terms and conditions apply
- Membership provides inclusive access to swimming, relevant Fitness Instructor supervised/monitored gym sessions, 15:30-16:30 and 16:30-17:30 weekdays and 10:00-11:00 and 11:00-12:00 weekends (age restricted), group exercise classes and sport sessions for specific ages, one off peak racquet sport activity per week and all holiday activities (age limits may be in place)
- Up to 6 days advanced telephone booking or on-line booking
- A health questionnaire MUST be completed prior to undertaking exercise and signed on behalf of the child by a parent or guardian
- All Instructors hold a current enhanced CRB or DBS, under child protection guidelines
- Gym Rebels members or Pay As You Go may attend with parental or guardian supervision before Gym Rebels sessions Monday to Sunday, and after Gym Rebels sessions Thursday to Sunday. They must always be supervised and only use equipment appropriate to their age, as outlined in the Junior PARQ.
Corporate membership
- The Corporate membership allows access to the gym, swimming pool, 3 group exercise classes per week, & health suite where applicable. Extra bolt on classes can be purchased. This membership does not allow court bookings which would be chargeable at an extra cost, unless you upgrade to the Premium Corporate membership.
- Proof of eligibility must be presented at point of sale, with a photocopy taken by centre and added to the membership account.
- Proof of eligibility will include; NHS staff card (with photo ID and name), NHS/Emergency services payslip, NHS/emergency services letter of employment (dated within the last 3 months),
- Guests must pay a guest fee. Guests cannot enter the centre without the member
- This membership allows 7 day advanced booking rights and online booking.
- A membership card will be issued which must be used to enter the centre on every visit.
- Members must have their photo taken for their membership file or provide photographic ID on every visit.
- The Corporate membership offers cross usage to other centres in the same borough operated by Haringey Council.
- The customer must be over the age of 16 years of age to hold a Direct Debit or annual membership.
Freeze or cancelling your membership
- To amend your membership, please visit your local centre, where a Customer Service Assistant will be able to help you.
- To freeze your membership, please visit the contact us page on the centre website, click "Give Notice of Membership Freeze" option, complete the freeze request form and submit it successfully. Once submitted, you will receive an automated confirmation.
- The maximum freeze period per year is 3 months in total (that could be consecutively or sporadically) at the cost of £10 per month.
- Freezes must be a full month (1st-31st or 15th-14th) to coincide with the Direct Debit. We do not offer mid-month freezes.
- If you are looking to downgrade your membership, please request this using the contact form which you will find on our website.
- To cancel your membership, you must select the "Give Notice of Cancellation" option on the contact us page, complete the cancellation form and submit it successfully. Once submitted, you will receive an automated confirmation.
- All cancellation and freeze requests must be given with one clear calendar months' notice. If you are requesting a cancellation whilst in the middle of a freeze, the cancellation will not be processed until one clear months' payment of membership is given.
- All new members have a 14-day cooling-off period. If you wish to cancel your membership within your first 14 days of joining, you must "Give Notice of Cancellation" option on the contact us page, complete the cancellation form and submit it successfully. You will also need to inform your centre that you are cancelling within 14 days of joining.
- All memberships must be live and not frozen in their last month in order for them to be cancelled. Member accounts must not have any arrears in order to be able to cancel the membership.
Annual memberships
- Annual memberships share the same terms and conditions as the relevant monthly direct debit membership
- Annual memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Lido season ticket holders
- Summer season tickets are valid for one season only and this period runs from April until the end of September
- Winter season tickets are valid for one season only and this period runs from October to the end of March
- Opening hours and season open and close dates may vary during this time and will be published on the website
- The season ticket is non-refundable, non-transferable, non-exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash
- To get best value purchase your season ticket early in the season as pro-rata refunds will not be issued
- Fair usage policy – Haringey Council operates a fair usage policy to ensure everyone can use the Lido. Excessive use may result in termination of use.
- Season tickets are not valid for any additional opening outside of the advertised timetable
- Season ticket holders are entitled to use of the lido only
- The customer purchasing the season ticket must be over the age of 18 years of age
- Lost season ticket can be replaced at the pool office for a charge of £5 per ticket
- Season ticket holders MUST swipe their membership card upon entering the facility
- The centre rules must be always adhered to.
Big day parties
- Big Day Parties are available for children between 2 and 16 years of age.
- All bookings MUST be paid in full at the time of booking.
- Cancellation notice: a) More than 28 days' notice - The party may be transferred to another day. A fee of £10 will be charged for this change. b) Notice less than 28 days - The party will only be transferred without loss if the original booked date can be re-booked for another hire.
- For Pool Parties a lifeguard will be available for up to 20 children. If more than 20 children attend a surcharge of £15 will be made for the additional lifeguard.
- Lifeguards are not permitted to enter the water to organise activities. If a party organiser is required in addition to the lifeguards, you should discuss with the leisure centre and a charge for this will be made.
- Food is provided at selected centres. Please confirm your requirements when booking. At other centres we ask you to bring your own party food (including a cake), drinks and decorations. Some centres do not have facilities for food.
- If you wish to take photographs or use video equipment during your party you must obtain permission from the Duty Manager and our disclaimer must be completed and signed in advance of the party.
- Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your party to meet your party host.
- 2 adults over the age of 18 are required to remain present throughout the party. More supervising adults may be required for Big Day Swim Parties for children under 8. Please check with the centre and confirm this when booking.
- Our swimming admission policy applies at all times. Please ask a member of staff for details.
- Socks must be worn for Big Day Bounce and Soft Play Parties.
- Suitable non-marking trainers and comfortable clothing should be worn for Big Day Sports Parties.
Cashless top up card account
- A cashless account is an account held that you or we have credited an amount of money to.
- This credit once purchased or provided can be used to purchase either pre-paid activities and bookings or immediate bookings.
- Once a credit has been added to your cashless account, either by you or Haringey Council, it cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
- Should you have debt on any other account held with Haringey Council, then any credit balance can be transferred from your cashless account to the debt account without authorisation from you to either clear or part clear this debt account.
- Credit on the cashless account will be valid for 2 years, after 2 years any credit on the cashless account will be removed and cannot be reinstated or refunded.
- No interest is paid for any account that is in credit with Haringey Council.
Tennis and trampoline lesson payment
- All fees must be paid in advance of the lessons.
- Direct Debit payments are taken on the agreed payment date each month.
- New joiners will pay a pro-rata payment for any lessons which take place prior to the first Direct Debit being taken.
- We reserve the right to apply an activation fee where appropriate.
- To amend your membership, please visit the contact us page on the centre website, select "Upgrade or Amend My Membership", complete the relevant fields and submit. All and cancellations must be given with one clear calendar months' notice, via the contact us page on the centre website. Click 'Give Notice of Cancellation', complete the cancellation form and submit. A member of our administration team will then be in touch to complete the process of cancellation.
- Failure to provide the full notice period to cancel your tennis/trampoline when on Direct Debit may result in Haringey Council taking recovery action for the outstanding payment.
- Haringey Council reserves the right to change the price of tennis and trampoline lessons at any time. Direct Debit customers will be notified in writing with at least 10 working days' notice of any change.
- For any failed Direct Debits, Haringey Council reserves the right to restrict access to the lessons until a suitable payment has been made for the missed Direct Debit Payment. Under these circumstances Haringey Council will not guarantee the same space on the existing lesson.
- Direct Debit payments include 45 sessions per year
- The monthly Direct Debit subscription remains the same for each calendar month. Over a 12-month period, with 12 equal Direct Debit payments a total of 45 tennis or trampoline lessons will be available to attend.
