How to apply for People Need Parks funding

Who can apply 

Individuals and constituted groups can apply. 

Individuals 

Residents can apply to organise small activities. 

Groups 

Any group that has a link or interest to a Haringey managed park can apply. 

You must be a constituted group which means you: 

  • have a constitution 
  • have a bank account in the group’s name 
  • provide activities or events free of charge for the whole community  

Groups must have match funding in place of at least 50% of project costs. This can be cash or ‘in-kind’ like: 

  • volunteer time 
  • materials 
  • transport 

When you can apply 

You can apply at any time of the year. 

Money is allocated to the fund each April. It’s given to successful applicants on a first-come, first-served basis.  

How to apply 

There are different application forms for groups and individuals. Please choose the correct form. 

Individuals 

Before applying you must be clear on how you’re going to spend the money. For example, it could be on play equipment for a community to use during a park get together etc. 

You must provide the following:  

  • a recent bank statement clearly showing account name, number and sort code – all other information can be removed 
  • an outline of how and what you’ll spend the money on 
  • who the activity is aimed at 

Once you start your application you cannot save it and return to it later. Make sure you have all the information and documents you need to apply.

Start your application for individuals

Groups 

Before applying you must be clear on: 

  • what you want to spend the funding on 
  • what you’re providing  
  • who your activity is aimed at 
  • how you’ll deliver the activity 
  • how your activity meets one or more of the 3 funding objectives 

You must provide the following: 

  • your group bank statement clearly showing account name, number and sort code – all other information can be removed 
  • your group constitution and AGM minutes 
  • an event/activity plan 
  • a budget outline 

Once you start your application you cannot save it and return to it later. Make sure you have all the information and documents you need to apply.

Hiring a park

We recommend you book a park for your event at the same time you apply for funding. 

For a small event (less than 500 people) we need at least 6 weeks’ notice.
