Week of Action to focus on Highgate

The latest in our series of Weeks of Action is set to get underway on Monday (20 May 2024) in Highgate, where retail crime and fly-tipping are among the key issues to be addressed by Haringey Council.
Week of Action Timetable - Highgate

Activities will include joint patrols by the police and the council’s antisocial behaviour (ASB) and waste enforcement teams.

The Week of Action will involve key services across the borough, including: the council’s ASB, Highways, Home Improvement, Homelessness Outreach, Litter & Waste, Parks and Regulatory Services teams, as well as Bringing Unity Back Into The Community (BUBIC), Connected Communities, Haringey Community Gold and other services such as Community Payback.

There will be a hub each weekday located outside Jacksons Lane Arts Centre on Archway Road, giving opportunities for residents to discuss any issues or concerns they have with council staff.

Following resident feedback from previous Weeks of Action, we will also be organising hubs at different times throughout the week to give more residents the chance to engage. A full timetable for the hub in Highgate ward is below:

Monday 20 May: Community Safety Team – 11am-1pm
Tuesday 21 May: Environmental Health, Trading Standards & Waste Teams – 1pm-3pm
Wednesday 22 May: ASB Enforcement & Parking Services Teams – 11am-1pm
Thursday 23 May: Community Safety Team – 1pm-3pm
Friday 24 May: Parking Services Team – 11am-1pm

Haringey Council coordinates the Week of Action to take place on a bi-monthly basis, each one targeting a different area of the borough.

Previous Weeks of Action have taken place in Bruce Grove, Crouch End, Hermitage and Gardens, Hornsey, Muswell Hill, Northumberland Park, South Tottenham, Stroud Green, Tottenham Hale, Turnpike Lane and Wood Green.
