Former Haringey councillor passes away

Everyone at Haringey was saddened to hear the news that former councillor, Andrew Krokou, has passed away.

Andrew was a ward councillor in both the 1970s and 2000s.  He represented West Green between 1971 – 74 and Noel Park from 1974 to 1978, as well Stroud Green between 2002 and 2006.

A former teacher, Andrew sat on several committees during his time at the council always maintaining a strong interest in education. 

Thought to be the first councillor of Cypriot origin to serve at Haringey, he was Chair of the Alexandra Palace and Park Board between 2002 and 2005.

Andrew was active in the community, lending his time and support to amongst others, the Tottenham District Charity, and was a passionate supporter of Spurs. 

Andrew will be fondly remembered and on behalf of the people of Haringey, we send our sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
