Our Holiday Fun booklet is jam-packed full of activities for youngsters of all ages and abilities right across the borough – from boxing, cycling and dance to martial arts, roller skating and theatre.

There’s something to suit all hobbies and interests across 28 pages of fabulous FUN activities and events that are predominantly provided FREE of charge or at low cost.

It’s ‘Kids for a Quid’* on junior swim sessions for all Haringey children under 16 at Park Road Pools and Fitness** (**excluding Lido) and Tottenham Green Pools and Fitness too (*Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult).

New River Sports and Fitness will also be hosting their very own 50th birthday celebrations tomorrow (Saturday 3 August 2024, 10am-5pm) – celebrating five decades of fitness and sport, as well as the past, present and future, at the White Hart Lane-based leisure centre.

You can also download our What’s On In Libraries brochure for August. If you bookmark the webpage as well, you can come back to it and find out the latest happenings in our libraries for September, October, November and all year round!

There are many Summer Reading Challenge activities and events over the school holidays.

Open to all children aged four to 11, the Summer Reading Challenge is run every year and aims to improve children’s reading skills and confidence by encouraging them to read six library books between 6 July 2024 and 7 September 2024. There’s also a smaller Mini Challenge for pre-school children.

This year’s theme is ‘Marvellous Makers,’ with The Reading Agency having teamed up with the charity Create to sprinkle magic on kids’ minds, sparking stories and creativity through the wonders of reading.

Children who complete the core Summer Reading Challenge (and not the Mini Challenge equivalent) will receive a certificate and a medal. Completers of the Mini Challenge will be entered into a draw to win £10 book vouchers.

In addition to the aforementioned nationwide rewards, children who complete the core Summer Reading Challenge across Haringey libraries will be entered into a prize draw to win one of eight booklights and one of three electronic dictionary bookmarks and tablets.

There’s also a full programme of arts and crafts sessions, talks and walks as we continue to celebrate South Asian Heritage Month here in Haringey.
