Bounds Green Infant School celebrates ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating

A Bounds Green school is celebrating after receiving an ‘Outstanding’ rating across all areas in their latest Ofsted report.

This exceptional result from Bounds Green Infant School includes top marks for quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years. It means the school has maintained the top rating initially achieved in 2017. 

The school’s last full inspection took place in March 2017, when it was also rated as ‘Outstanding.’

In their latest report, Ofsted praised Bounds Green Infant School’s rigorous and ambitious curriculum, which ensures pupils build a deep understanding across subjects. The creative curriculum, built around books, was also commended for bringing subjects to life, enhancing vocabulary, and immersing early years children in stories.

The report also highlighted several strengths, stating that, “Pupils thrive in this nurturing and supportive environment, gaining knowledge and confidence through a rich curriculum and well-planned wider experiences. Staff are instrumental in helping children grow in both confidence and independence.”

Cllr Zena Brabazon, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools, and Families at Haringey Council, said: “We are incredibly proud of Bounds Green Infant School. The hard work from teachers, parents, and most importantly, the students, has truly shone through and been rewarded with this fantastic result.

“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this success.

“Every child deserves the best start in life, and we remain committed to making that a reality in our borough. The future of Haringey is bright, and we know our children will continue to thrive."

Ann Graham, Director of Children Services at Haringey Council, said: “This is another fantastic achievement for Bounds Green Infant School.

“It’s essential that our students have the right environment to flourish, and the school’s focus on delivering a rigorous and creative curriculum has undoubtedly played a key role in this success.

“This result stands as a testament to the school’s ongoing excellence in providing high-quality education and support for all its pupils.”

This outstanding recognition from Ofsted is a testament to the school’s strong leadership and its continued efforts to provide a high-quality, engaging education for all its pupils.
