This year, over 100 young people aged 11 to 16 were nominated by their foster carers, social workers, teachers, and key workers for awards in categories such as Community Involvement, Leadership and Responsibility, and Outstanding Academic Achievement.
Held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday, 15 November 2024, the awards were presented by Club Ambassador Ledley King and the Mayor of Haringey, Cllr Sue Jameson, during a lively evening filled with magic, dance, poetry, and other performances.
Cllr Zena Brabazon, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools, and Families, along with senior council officers, attended the ceremony to recognise and celebrate the young nominees' outstanding accomplishments.
The event was hosted by three alumni of the Foundation’s ‘To Care Is To Do’ programme, which supports local children in care by improving educational attainment, enhancing employability, and promoting healthy, active lifestyles.
Organised annually by the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation in collaboration with the Haringey Virtual School for Children in Care, the HEAA highlights the incredible resilience and potential of Haringey’s young people.
Both the Haringey Virtual School and Tottenham Hotspur Foundation remain committed to empowering looked-after young people through events, workshops, and activities that nurture their skills and confidence.
This inspiring event underscores Haringey’s dedication to celebrating and supporting its young residents, ensuring they thrive and succeed.
