The Mayor of London was joined by The Leader of the Council, Cllr Peray Ahmet, Lead Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Schools, Cllr Zena Brabazon, and senior officers from Haringey Council's children services.

Together, they emphasised the importance of empowering young people with knowledge and resources to combat GBV.

Upon Sadiq Khan’s arrival, he participated in one of the lessons, engaging with students and observing how this vital subject matter is being integrated into the curriculum.

Following this, a roundtable discussion took place, where the Mayor interacted with both children and staff, fostering an open dialogue about the importance of addressing GBV from an early age.

The collaboration between the Mayor’s office and Haringey Council aims to foster a deeper understanding of GBV issues and to encourage young people to speak out against violence in all its forms.
