Haringey stands together against Islamophobia

Today (Friday 1 November 2024) marks the start of Islamophobia Awareness Month – an important opportunity to show solidarity with our Muslim communities in Haringey.

Following the far-right riots nationwide this summer and amid reports of rising Islamophobia in the UK, November gives us all a chance to educate ourselves about the many ways that such racial or religious bigotry, discrimination and prejudice manifests in our society.

There is no place for hate of any kind in Haringey.

If you witness a hate crime, report it to the police by calling 101* (*in an emergency, dial 999). Should you come across offensive graffiti, report it to us by telephoning: 0208 489 0000.

Here, the Leader of Haringey Council, Cllr Peray Ahmet, reasserts that there’s no place for Islamophobia here in our borough, with a zero tolerance approach to any form of hate crime or racism.
