This event provided an invaluable opportunity for the youngsters and David Lammy to discuss pressing issues such as knife crime, funding for young people with SEND within the educational system and the challenges facing their community.

With Lead Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Families, Cllr Zena Brabazon also present, participants engaged in meaningful conversations with the Tottenham MP, exploring his journey into politics, his personal background, and the obstacles he faced while growing up. The event created a space for both the young attendees and government minister to connect, share concerns, and discuss their aspirations for the future.

Located in Wood Green, the Rising Green Youth Hub serves young people aged 11 to 19, as well as those up to 25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The hub is dedicated to offering a supportive environment where young people can relax, socialise, and learn, helping to foster a sense of community and empowerment.

The Youth Council and Elevated Panel at the Rising Green Youth Hub meet monthly to discuss important issues and plan upcoming events where they can express their concerns about the community.

If you know someone aged 11 to 25 who is eager to make a difference and wants to contribute to positive change, encourage them to join in!
