How we work out the cost of your permit
Vehicles registered after 1 March 2001
If your vehicle was registered after 1 March 2001, the cost is based on the environmental impact of your vehicle – go to GOV.UK to see how much CO2 your vehicle produces (g/km).
Vehicles registered before 1 March 2001
If your vehicle was registered before March 2001, your vehicle's CO2 emissions are not available. The cost of your permit is based on your vehicle's engine size (CCs).
Diesel vehicles
Diesel vehicles must pay an extra £80 on yearly permits and £40 on 6-monthly permits. Costs shown below.
More than 1 permit
All households can have 1 resident permit at the standard price. There's an extra charge for further permits of £50 for yearly permits and £25 for 6-monthly. Costs shown below.
