Premises licence interim authority notice

Part of: Premises licence

A premises licence will lapse if the licence holder:

  • dies
  • becomes mentally incapacitated
  • becomes insolvent

An interim authority notice will reinstate the premises licence from the time the notice is received. The person giving the notice will become the licence holder.

Process

  1. The interim authority notice must be made within 28 days of the licence lapsing so the premises can continue to trade.
  2. A transfer of premises licence must take place within three months. If not, the licence will lapse again.
