The closure of West Green Road is likely to last for about 10 weeks through to Sunday 21 July 2024.
There will be no vehicle access to West Green Road from Suffield Road and Westerfield Road, although both roads will remain accessible from Seven Sisters Road.
To allow vehicles in and out and to assist traffic flow in the local area, a two-way system will be in operation on both Suffield Road and Westerfield Road for the duration of the works.
To allow traffic to divert, camera-controlled enforcement will be temporarily suspended in the Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) trials on the following roads:
Bruce Grove West Green LTN:
- Broadwater Road (northbound filter lifted, southbound filter remains operational)
- Mount Pleasant Road (northbound no entry lifted, southbound filter remains operational)
- The Avenue
St Ann’s LTN:
- La Rose Lane
The north-facing entrance to Seven Sisters tube station (towards the junction with West Green Road and High Road) will also be closed for the duration of the works. All other entrances and exits to Seven Sisters tube station will remain open as normal.
Traffic and bus diversions will be in place during this time. A diversion will be in operation directing traffic travelling between Turnpike Lane and Seven Sisters to use Green Lanes and Seven Sisters Road.
Bus routes 41 and N41 towards Archway and Tottenham Hale respectively will be on diversion and buses won’t be stopping at stop D (High Road) and Seven Sisters Station bus stop E (West Green).
Work near the Seven Sisters tube station exit will take place in August and September.
The three phases of the work should take approximately 19 weeks until Friday 13 September 2024.
Haringey Council is working closely with Cadent Gas to minimise the disruption these works will cause to businesses, commuters, residents and visitors to the borough as much as possible.
The works are vital to ensure Cadent Gas’ network remains reliable to avoid any loss of heating and hot water to customers across north London.
