Prioritising planned highways maintenance

We have to prioritise highway repairs in Haringey.

This is because there are lots of roads and footways that need maintaining and limited resources for repairs.

When we prioritise our work, we consider:

• funding available for different types of roads
• condition surveys
• officers’ inspections
• issues raised by residents and councillors
• how a road is used
• other planned works

The final programme of work is included in a highways investment plan. This plan is presented to the council’s cabinet and lead members for approval each year.
