Cycle parking

Encouraging more people to cycle is a vital part of our plan to tackle congestion, improve air quality, promote physical activity and improve accessibility.

We’re committed to promoting cycling as serious transport. As the number of people cycling increases, we recognise the need for safe and secure parking.

Cycle stands

We’ve invested heavily in cycle parking facilities in recent years and installed over 1,500 publicly accessible on-street cycle parking spaces – for example:

• in town centres
• outside shops
• by doctors’ surgeries
• by tube and rail stations

We install high-quality stands where there’s a high demand for on-street cycle parking. The cycle stands we use are known as 'Sheffield' cycling stands.
