Our School Street plan sets out our ambition for the majority of schools in Haringey to have a School Street by 2026.
Proposed School Streets
In July and August we carried out informal consultation on the following proposed School Streets.
A decision is expected to be made in early autumn and, if approved, will be subject to statutory (traffic order) consultation in the autumn. A final decision will be taken later in the year.
SS48 Bounds Green Infant School and Bounds Green Junior School
SS50 Coldfall Primary School (Everington Road entrance)
SS54 Welbourne School (Stainby Road entrance)
Approval of School Streets
In December 2022, we carried out an informal consultation on the initial design of new School Streets.
The results of the informal consultation were considered by the Director of Environment and Resident Experience, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Climate Action, Environment and Transport. A decision was taken to progress most of the proposed School Streets.
You can read the decision to implement these School Streets.
A statutory consultation was carried out in November and December 2023 for these School Streets. The results of the statutory consultation were considered by Cabinet on 7 February 2024.
You can read the February 2024 Cabinet decision agenda item and documents.
These School Streets have now been approved and were implemented on 15 and 16 April 2024.
