Appeal a decision against a petition

How to appeal a decision against your petition.

If the petition organiser thinks that their petition has not been dealt with properly, they have the right to request a review. If your petition was considered and a response given by officers, then please send your concerns to the council's Corporate Feedback team. If you remain dissatisfied, you can submit a complaint to the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman.

If your petition was considered and debated at either an Overview and Scrutiny meeting, or Full Council meeting, then please request a referral to the chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee (OSC) who will consider how best to respond, depending on the nature of the concerns.
