Employment and job support

Good work for all

Haringey Learns believes in Good Work for All. This means we want our courses to support learners to get jobs where they’re paid a regular, fair wage and have opportunities to progress.

We work closely with Haringey’s employment service Haringey Works to help residents get into work.

We offer employment support on the second floor of Wood Green Library, and provide:

  • job search assistance
  • application form guidance
  • CV drafting support
  • career advice and information

Careers and employability

All our courses are designed to help you with your employment goals while you learn.

We have a dedicated adult learning officer in the centre who can provide one-to-one support.

We can also refer you to other services, for financial and practical support in preparation for job interviews. We work closely with Haringey Works for female learners to provide top brand clothing and accessories to maximise interview success.

Strong partnerships

We also help learners get employment by working closely with employers and employment advisors. This includes discussing changes to the job market and the skills that applicants need to have. We do this to make sure we’re running courses that offer our learners good employment opportunities.

We have strong employer partnerships and relationships in sectors like:

  • health and social care
  • banking and finance
  • environmental and creative

Our regular careers carousels and mentoring programmes also provide 1-1 support and opportunities from companies and organisations like:

  • Santander
  • Veolia
  • NHS
